Paxton Media Service began as an operation at a local camera
store to provide customers with a way to update their family
videos when they bought new cameras which were a different
format from their older ones. The tapes made on the older
cameras were not playable on the new ones. We would convert
the tapes for the customer.
When we realized the universal nature of this need among
camcorder owners, we began to advertise to a larger customer
base. We also began to see that there were other applications
to this service besides camcorders. For instance, someone
may have reel-to-reel tapes made by a family member who was
a musician, and would like to play them, and preserve them. In
this instance, we converted the programs to tracks on CDs,
allowing the individual to play them conveniently, and to
preserve them beyond the short life of the original tape.

If you are thinking of sending us your original
recording for duplication, please call first.
We are in the central Massachusetts area and it is our policy to pick
up and deliver all original media by hand. Originals are truly unique
(one-of-a-kind) items which, if lost, cannot be replaced. If you choose
to mail your recording to us or use a common carrier, please be
aware of the risk you are taking. At the least, you should track your
package. We will be happy to return your finished recordings to you
by the shipping method you prefer, but since we lose control of the
items the moment we send them off, we cannot guarantee their safe
return. It is our policy to send original and duplicates separately.
